The Legend of Zelda
NES

Really the first game were you felt you were out in the open and solving a quest. Two of them. Man the first time I got the raft I was so pumped. Each level and their boss were cool cuz each had a secret weapon. Of course finding heart containers was fun too! And playing the money making game.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The most anticipated game of all time, Ocarina more then delivered. After getting some phat stones and visiting the Deko Tree, you had 5 Temples to beat. I hated the Water Temple! The hookshot was probably the moneyest weapon. Also had the greatest boss fight ever - the Forest Temple with Phantom Gannon coming through the pictures! And who can forget the final battle with Ganon!

Super Mario Brothers

The game that ultimately got me into video games. It was just so fun to jump around and explore levels. Plus all the hidden secrets. One of my favorite moves to do was bust up the vine and dance. I never could get to the minus world. I could also never jump over the flag pole, which may of just been some mean joke played on me. Maybe someday I will try again. I think the funnest thing to do is try and play all the levels without warp. I remember level 2-3 was fun. And there was a castle level where you had to follow a certain pattern - that was cool. I really can't find any flaws except for if you go back and play it today you can beat it in like 10 minutes!

Super Mario 64

The reason to initally get the system, this was the first time many had played an actually 3-D game. This was the perfect combination of fun and challenge. Each level had its own uniqueness. You know I got 120 stars. My bro had 119 and I erases his game, possible the biggest dick-move ever. Who can forget throwing Boswer? And that last level was so hard (and the Clock level!) Plus there was a rumor you could find Luigi, which you couldn't.

Super Mario Brothers 3

One of the greatest games of all time and arguabably the best on the NES. Awesome graphics for the NES as well as great gameplay with all the puzzles and hidden secrets. Getting the whistles with the get behind the background trick is cool. You can also be a racoon, frog, or hammer brother! The end guy was rather easy. I always thought level 3 was the hardest. Level 5 the cloud level was pretty hard too. I can't quite give it a perfect score because it wasn't an original.

God of War

Pretty much a perfect game. The story line and gameplay were awesome. Kratos is definitely a BA. The puzzles were well done and the enemies were awesome! I just wish there were more variety in the enemies. It was challenging enough. The God of War at the end was kind of disappointing.

Resident Evil 4

I heard great things about this game and I usually only play sports or RPG games, but RE4 was almost perfect. I never got tired of the story, which I can't decide if that was the best part or the just the general gameplay. The action reaction buttons were sweet especially when you fight the commando guy. Yea I admit I had to stop playing sometimes I was so scared. I did have the light off and it was late though!
The only reason I didn't give this a perfect score was the end boss was rather easy and in general I woulda thrown in one or two more boss battles. This is defintely a game I will play through again. Just the right level of difficulty (you can't waste ammo!) So get Leon and save Ashley!

Mike Tysons Punch Out
NES

This game was just flat out fun. Every boxer had his own personality. Of course everyone liked King Hippo and hated Don Flamengo. Bald Bull was always tough and then the last three fighters were very hard. God I hated Super Macho Man's spin punch. Mike Tyson was fun to fight and was actually pretty easy if you got past the first 90 seconds untouched. I remember I was one of my few friends who could actually beat him. Man I was cool. And who can forget Little Mac's pink hoodie when he is strolling along with Doc training. Don't worry just use select and Doc will rub Mac and give him some power. The music and taunts were great too. And the comments in between rounds when Doc tells you to read Nintendo Power to so you can beat Soda Popinski.

This is actually 5 games in one! Portal was a puzzle game which was original and challenging. Not to mention pretty funny, I enjoyed my cake with it. I didn't really play Team Fortress. Even though Half Life 2 was about 4 years old at this time it was still an awesome game. The gravity gun and the homing missiles were the best weapons. The challenge was perfect and the environments were fun. I highly recommend Episode 2 of Half Life especially - that took what was great to an even higher level.

God of War II

Built much like the first God of War, which is a good thing. It was epic thoughout but obviously not as original as the first. There were some really cool boss battles like Lahkesis & Atropis. Going after Zeus was a nice storyline. I always thought Zeus to be badass cool, but I guess not. Did I mention you also get to fight Perseus and Icarus? If you played the first God of War, then you know how awesome this game is as it has improved on everything from the first!
